WASTE WE ACCEPT IN OUR SKIP AND WALK IN BINS
General Waste Bin:
Clothes, toys, furniture, steel, computers, tv’s, printers, fans, microwaves, power tools, generators, white goods, roofing iron, push bikes, highchairs, kitchenware, metal car parts, car rims (no tyres), curtains, wood, glass, green waste (no dirt), small stumps & mattresses.
Builders Waste Bin:
Same as General PLUS treated pine, mdf, plaster, carpet, bricks, dirt, concrete, agapanthus, & tiles. Note: Limited bin sizes available for heavy waste.
Green Waste ONLY Bin:
Leaves, branches, grass cuttings, stumps (no dirt)
Batteries:
Car, truck, bike & re-chargeable. Are acceptable, BUT can only be placed NEXT to the bin for collection or handed direct to the driver.
Synthetic Grass:
Synthetic Grass is extremely heavy and as such is accepted by QUOTE only. Contact the office for more information.
Extra Charges:
Extra charges apply for Tyres, overfilling of the bins and any prohibited waste found in the bin. Extra charges will also apply if the bin is not ready for pick up on the scheduled pick up day.
WHAT CAN’T GO IN THE SKIP & WALK-IN BINS?
Items which cannot go in our Skip and Walk-in bins are:
Asbestos, household chemicals, farm chemicals, commercial chemicals, liquid paint, motor oil, household oil, gas cylinders, syringes, flares, food scraps, bio waste or explosives.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF HIRE

No Prescribed, Hazardous or Liquid Waste. No Asbestos, Paints, Chemicals, Oils, Gas Cylinders, Syringes, Explosives, Flares, Bio-waste, Batteries or Tyres to be placed in the bin(s), if found in bin on pick up, extra charges will apply, or items will be returned.
Note: Gas cylinders are charged at $45 per item if found in bin and Tyres range from $20-$130 depending on size.
- Mattresses must be placed in bin so that it is level with the sides. Any overfilling will incur an extra charge.
- Bin(s) to be filled to the water level and NOT above the sides. Do not overfill bin(s). The truck driver reserves the right to remove excess rubbish or charge for extra waste above the lip of the bin, in cubic metres.
- Three (3) day maximum hire, unless otherwise negotiated. Additional time can be booked for an additional hire fee. On the day of pick up, the bin will be collected anytime between 7am and 4.45pm, bin must be accessible for pick up on your pickup day during these hours.
- Payment for bin(s) required by delivery date. Payment can be made by Cash on delivery, noting drivers do not carry change, or payment can be made by bank transfer or by credit card online. Bins will not be collected and a driveaway fee will be applied if payment has not cleared resulting in the bin being unable to be picked up on the agreed date.
- The driver has final say on the location of bin placement, your desired location may not be possible due to limited truck access, weather or for OHS reasons.
- If the bin is severely damaged whilst on site, you may be liable for the cost to repair the bin. If the bin needs to be moved, please contact Big Bins office, do not move it yourself as this may cause damage to the bin.
- In the event the driver cannot get access to the requested delivery location (for pickup, drop off or change over) and must return later, a drive away fee of $50-$100 will be charged. If the bin location is more than 30km from Drouin, the higher value will apply.
- The customer accepts responsibility for damage to driveways, concrete paths and any other damage made on site. If the booking has been made by a business and not the homeowner, the business accepts responsibility for the decision of where the bin will be placed as well as any wear and tear this causes.
Acceptance of the bin(s) on site, implies acceptance of the terms and condition of hire.
