WASTE WE ACCEPT IN OUR SKIP AND WALK IN BINS
Light General Waste Bin:
Clothes, toys, furniture, steel, computers, tv’s, printers, fans, microwaves, power tools, generators, white goods, roofing iron, push bikes, highchairs, kitchenware, metal car parts, car rims (no tyres), curtains, green waste (no dirt), small stumps & mattresses.
Medium Builders Waste Bin:
Same as General PLUS, treated pine, mdf, wood, glass, plaster, carpet, agapanthus, & minimal tiles.
Heavy Builders Waste Bin:
Same as Medium Builders PLUS, bricks, asphalt, stone, concrete, cement sheeting, tiles & minimal dirt. Note: Limited bin sizes available for heavy waste.
Green Waste ONLY Bin:
Leaves, branches, grass cuttings, small stumps under 20cm diameter (no dirt, agapanthus, blackberries)
Batteries:
Car, truck, bike & re-chargeable. Are acceptable, BUT can only be placed NEXT to the bin for collection or handed direct to the driver.
Synthetic Grass:
Synthetic Grass is extremely heavy and as such is accepted by QUOTE only. Contact the office for more information.
Extra Charges:
Extra charges apply for Tyres, gas cylinders, overfilling of the bins and any prohibited waste found in the bin. Extra charges will also apply if the bin is not ready for pick up on the scheduled pick up day.
WHAT CAN’T GO INTO A SKIP OR WALK-IN BIN?
Items which cannot go in any of our Skip or Walk-in bins are:
Batteries, asbestos, household chemicals, farm chemicals, commercial chemicals, liquid paint, motor oil, household oil, gas cylinders, syringes, flares, bio waste or explosives.
If you have a car battery that needs disposal, please let your driver know so we can pick up up safely. Batteries CANNOT be placed in the bins for risk of fire.
TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SKIP & WALK-IN BIN HIRE
- Prohibited items: No Prescribed, Hazardous or Liquid Waste. No Asbestos, Paints, Chemicals, Oils, Gas Cylinders, Syringes, Explosives, Flares, Bio-waste or Batteries are to be placed in the bin(s). If found in the bin on pick-up, extra charges will apply, or items will be returned. Note: Gas cylinders are charged at $45 per item if found in the bin. Tyres range from $20–$130 depending on size.
- Mattresses: Mattresses must be placed in the bin level with the sides of the bin. Any overfilling of bins will incur extra charges.
- Overfilling: Bin(s) must be filled only to water level and NOT above the sides. The truck driver reserves the right to remove excess rubbish or charge for waste above the lip of the bin (calculated in cubic metres).
- Hire Period: Standard hire is for up to three (3) days unless otherwise negotiated. Additional hire time can be arranged for a fee. On the scheduled pick-up day, the bin may be collected anytime between 7:00am and 5:00pm. The bin must be accessible during these hours.
- Payment: Payment is required prior to bin delivery. Bins will not be collected without cleared payment. A “Missed Pick Up” drive-away fee will apply if payment has not been received by the scheduled collection date. Payment options:
- Cash on delivery (note: drivers do not carry change),
- Bank transfer, or
- Credit card online.
- Bin Placement: The driver has final say on bin placement. Your preferred location may not be possible due to truck access, weather, or safety (OHS) reasons.
- Damage & Moving Bins: If the bin is severely damaged while on site, you may be liable for repair costs. If the bin needs to be moved, please contact Meluca Recycling. Do not move the bin yourself, as this may cause damage.
- Access Issues: If the driver cannot access the delivery/pick-up location (due to locked gates, parked cars, etc.) and must return later, a $150 drive-away fee will be charged and must be paid prior to rebooking.
- Council Permits: Council permits are the responsibility of the customer. Please check with your local council if a permit is required for placement.
- Site Responsibility: The customer accepts responsibility for any damage to driveways, concrete paths, or other property while the bin is on site. Where a booking is made by a business (not the homeowner), the business accepts responsibility for deciding bin placement and any resulting wear or damage.
Acceptance of the bin(s) on site implies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions of Hire.
